GATOR'S TRIPLE PLAY CHALLENGE
For more info click on the cute little gator below:
Sun kissed mountain peaks
majestic in the sky.
Beautiful angry ocean mist
spraying up so high.
Old worn and tattered flags
waving in the breeze.
Fills my heart with joy,
brings me to my knees.
Still I want to travel and see it all,
the beauty around the globe.
But returning to see Old Glory fly,
will be a beauty to behold!
This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.
(What difference if I hail from North, or South, or East, or West?
My Heart is filled with love for all of these.
I only know I swell with pride from deep within my breast.
I thrill to see Ole Glory paint the breeze.
With hand upon my heart I'm thankful for my native land.
For all I love is here within her gates.
My soul is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand.
For these are mine, my own United States.)
This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.

ReplyDeleteLinda ..grand slam chic..heart felt words and a stirring image simply great and then topped off with such a classic writer and voice...And indeed when I always returned from abroad it was so good to set foot back on my native shores...I knew you would really bring it and i wasnt let down at all...:)

ReplyDeleteVery well done dear lady..but...can I just stay home for a bit..giggle..I think I had a good enough taste of what my country looks like..
ReplyDeleteHey!! That is my line!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, first, as I began to read your words, Tennessee Ernie Ford's music started in, that deep rich voice was such a wonderful background to read your words by. So many word pictures flash across the mind. And then scrolling down, the picture emerged, wonderful took my breath away, not only a picture that fits the music and your words perfectly, but some memories in some of the shots that are precious.
ReplyDeleteXXOO
