We can better appreciate
the miracle of a sunrise
if we have waited in darkness.

If you judge people, you have not time to love them.

One person at twenty feels life is passing him by. Another at
seventy is right in the thick of it. Why is this so? There is no
standard of age or health or prosperity or anything else to bar
some and admit others. Life has a standing invitation out to
everyone. But an invitation is just that. It lets us know where
the party is and that we are welcome. It does not take us by the
neck and drag us there. We are invited to life, but we have to
accept . We have to go where it's happening.

Happiness is a butterfly,
which when pursued,
is just out of grasp,
But if you sit down quietly,
may alight upon you.
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

Open Doors...

Happiness comes through doors
you didn't even know you left open.

"Think you can't change the world?
Too late, you already have. It was changed
for the better the minute you were born.
There are more people than you can imagine
who will never be the same because they came
in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment."
- Gail Pursell Elliott

Thank You...

Thank you, Lord, for the sheer joy
of wanting to get up and help
the world go around.

Be Happy...

Be happy in the moment - that's enough
Each moment is all we need - not more

You don't have to know how to sing,
it's feeling as though you want to
that makes the day happy and successful.

None of us wants to live our lives
in a private room, closing outthe rest
of the world. It is the openhearted,
open-minded person who sees life as a real adventure. The person who is open to new
experiences and sees them as part
of the growing process faces life
not with fear, but rather with anticipation.
When open to life, we see the potential
for good in ourselves and in others,
and we love to watch it unfold.
Nothing is gained by traveling
through life in a covered wagon.
-Ralph Rhea

No waste of time!

Rest is not idleness, and to lie
sometimes on the grass
under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water,
or watching the clouds
float across the sky
is by no means a waste of time.
- J. Lubbuck

How wonderful it would be if we could accept
ourselves and others as we except nature.
We don't expect a palm tree to be like an elm,
or a sunflower to look like a rose. To be fully
accepted by everyone is undoubtedly an
unattainable goal. But it is a wonderful
feeling when there is someone with whom
we can be honest and can discuss our
innermost feelings, knowing that we are still
accepted. To find this kind of acceptance,
we must also be willing to give it in return.
We can only be ourselves if we are willing
to let others be themselves.

Our road...

Our road will be smooth and untroubled,
no matter what care life may send, if we
travel the pathway together and walk side
by side with a friend.

Walls or Bridges...

A lot of people are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.
