    Good shot Linda! And so appropriate for this week's theme. It's been quite some years since I was last in the US, I can't remember the images on the coins. They look very nice. Somewhat to the left of the 1 dollar coin is a darker coin with a woman's face. It says Liberty on top. Who is the woman? Does/did she exist or is she a symbol of liberty?

    Nice detail! I like the way you framed it.
    "gkluit"- The lady on the dark coin is Pocahontas. She was the guide for Lewis and Clark's expedition across the US.

    They are actually the same coin ~ just front and back.... here is a little explanation I found on the coin. The Sacagawea dollar coin was introduced in 2000 to replace the Susan B. Anthony dollar, which was often confused with the quarter because of its color and feel. The newer coin is a golden color with no ribbing along the sides to prevent confusion, just like the Presidential coins introduced this year by the US Mint .
