I received this email yesterday from John's sister and best friend Judi:
Would you please tell John's friends on Facebook and Multiply (and other places he might have) what their messages have meet to me and my mom. I don't have the words to thank them all and tell them how sorry I'm for their loss too.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY BROTHER AND BEST PAL
REMEMBER HIM AS THE WAY HE WAS NOT AS HE IS TODAY.
REMEMBER HIM AS THE MAN WHO LOVED THE OUTDOORS AND NATURE AT HER BEST.
REMEMBER HIS SPIRIT AS A FREE FLOWING RIVER, A WIND THROUGH TIME OVER THE HILLS HE LOVED TO EXPLORE.
WE ALL LOSE EACH OTHER BUT NOT IN OUR MEMORIES AND HEARTS.
REMEMBER HIM AS ONE WHO LOVED YOU ALL IN ALL THE IMPORTANT WAYS.
REMEMBER HIM WITH A SMILE AND DO NOT GRIEVE TOO LONG
FOR HE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU.
JUDI OLIVERIA 2/6/10
TO ALL OF YOU WHO CARED ENOUGH TO WRITE ON MY BROTHERS WALL AND SPACE
MUCH LOVE AND APPRECIATION
MAY YOU ALL BE SAFE AND WELL
JOHN'S SISTER JUDI
And I will do just that. Hugs to you... and to Judi... and everyone. :D

Judi and Linda,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this precious moment with us. John has always held a very special place in our hearts. We miss him deeply, and we will celebrate his life. He has given so much to my family personally. He watched over my son while over seas, he prayed faithfully when ever a prayer request came his way. He's a light that shines bright when I think of him.
His humor brought tears though our laughter. His thoughtfulness created an everlasting bond. I am proud to call John brother. I can't tell you how many times he has touched our lives here in the Rutan home.
I will always keep John in my heart and remember the pure Joy in his voice when we talked.
John your our angel and we love you so much.
I pray for serenity and peace for you and Linda. I know deep in my heart that God has a plan for our blessed friend and brother.
Hugs to John's family and to you my dear sister Linda. We love you with all our hearts
Russ and Frannie
I've sat here, reading and re-reading all the words that have been poured out. The thankfulness of Judi, to the outpouring ance more for a man that still lives within us, each in our own special way. There is no way to measure a man for the greatness he was or has become, other than to walk in his shoes, or stand beside those that loved him most. This is one thing I think I will always envy John for, to have been in the grace of, the center of a unique and all binding love.
ReplyDeleteJohn will still remain within me as a Brother Not Forgotten, that man down, that man we don't leave behind, but carry him with us.
To his family, my undying respect, and to you Linda, my friendship.
John ... Semper Fi.
Thanks for passing on the message. I am glad our words were of some help to John's family. He is still missed around here. I know I will always have him in my memory, the special man that he was.
ReplyDeleteSending you a warm hug Linda.
Judi
ReplyDeleteJohn touched so many of us here with his wit and humor. He received people in an open and loving manner that has had a profound effect on people around the world. My life was changed for knowing him and for the better. John is with us in spirit, sadly I wish it was the way it was. I miss him and I will till he and I can walk and talk in Paradise. You can rest and find peace knowing what a friend and brother you had in John was special and that he was and still is loved by so many.
Bill.....
ReplyDeleteyou need to re-take on things mate...
There are a lot of people who hold you in the same reguard as John..
You are loved and respected as well....
I'd hate to think of your demise mate....the out-pouring of grief will be equal to that of John.
