Happy Father's Day

Dad, I never really knew you so it's hard for me to say

words of love and kindness for you on Father's Day.

My heart wants to keep good memories but it never really could,

because you didn't share your love with me or things a father should.

Forgiveness is what you get from me, and easily given with love,

as that is how it's given to me from My Father up above.

I've never lacked for things I needed, like guidence and love so true,

even with this empty spot in my heart that was made for only you.

What a blessing my children had a father's love and their's have it too,

But the biggest blessing of all , Dear Lord, is that we all have You.

Every child wants a daddy he or she can look up to,

maybe set on his lap, share the day with him

and just know he will be there when we need him.

For those not so blessed, there is a Father

that is always there for us, never judges us,

and loves us more than anything.
